- (1943- )He has an M.A. from Cambridge University and a Ph.D. from Essex University, and is affiliated with the School of English and American Studies at the University of Sussex, Brighton. His many books of poetry are collected in All Where Each Is (Allardyce, Barnett, 1985). He is closely associated with the British Poetry Revival-the general name given to a loose poetic movement in Britain that took place in the 1960s and 1970s, a modernist-inspired reaction to the movement's more conservative approach to British poetry. His collected poems, All Where Each Is, was published in 1985. With Jeremy Prynne (see entry) he was co-editor of the important revival magazine The English Intelligencer. He was co-editor with Tim Longville of A Various Art (Carcanet, 1987), and in 1995, he edited Carl Rakosi's Poems 1923-1941 for the Sun and Moon Press.
